This website has been around since about 1996 when it was just a roleplaying aid for players in my campaigns. I would post maps, turn archives, character profiles, stuff like that. It was looking pretty ugly and the visitors that I got outside of the circle of players would send me flaming emails about the waste of bandwidth. After about 50 of those I decided to make some changes.
I got myself my own domain and now I am busy putting together my own set of archives that (I hope) will appeal to a broader audience. I don't think I realized how much work it was going to be, but the amount of material I have HTMLized is growing by the day. Don't be disappointed at the lack of AD&D stuff available for general use here right now. Just bookmark the site and come back about once a month and you will definitely see more material here. The tools for building websites is making it easier and easier.
Singhect Campaign has started. Check back often for updates to the campaign. Once the game is fully underway, updates will be at least bi-monthly.
The EverQuest guild site pages have been removed as of Dec. 2006. I will try and find someone else to host these pages.
The message board has been dismantled as there was too much maintenance required to keep out the spammers.
I am planning new content for this website so stay tuned.
Who is Angthorn anyway? Well, Angthorn has been a GM for D&D and AD&D adventures for over 20 years! That must mean he's old right? Yep. I still remember my first D&D boxed set. One of these days I need to scan a few pages out of it and post them here. It was the original Gary Gygax, 5 (or 6?) book, boxed set and geeze is it funky looking.
So I'm over 40 now and am still playing this game. It's one of those things that never gets tiresome. If I have free time (which I rarely do except between midnight and 4 AM), I can let my mind wander creating my new Singhect Campaign or post a turn in a Play-By-Email campaign run by someone else. I know there are a lot of folks out there that are my age and are still at it - and I know who you are.
Most of the graphics on this site are my own original work. There are however some graphics that I have gotten off of other websites, but the majority have given users permission to copy their graphics. I apologize to those graphics artists out there that I have not yet gotten links built to your graphics sites. They will be here soon. If you see some ill gotten graphics on the site, notify me and I will remove them.
Wizards of the Coast (formerly TSR Inc.) of course owns all the rights to the trademarks, AD&D, Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, D&D, Dungeons and Dragons, Forgotten Realms, and a whole bunch of other things that appear on this site. Nothing on this site is a challenge to their ownership. This site is not for profit and I have a link to the Wizards of the Coast site, so I hope that will suffice to keep the lawyers off my tail. If not just ask me to remove all references to Trademarks and I will do so. That however would defeat the purpose of why the W of the C guys are in business.
The only rights I wish to retain to any of my original artwork that appears on this site, are the Angthorn's Lair logos. I also wish to retain the rights to the name Angthorn's Lair. Everything else is fair game as far as I'm concerned. I would be flattered if any of the other material which I have written or drawn is used elsewhere. I pay to do this stuff, I am not paid to do it.
Lastly, the summaries of the game turns in my campaigns and the stories that I have written out of those game turns are the copyrighted works of myself and the Players in my campaigns. Respect that. Don't go out and publish a book from this stuff. I and others will want their royalties. Feel free to use these as ideas for your own games however.
Best Regards,
Angthorn Haphaestus
